Welcome to The Choi Institute of Martial Arts and Science web site. Choi Shin Do means "highest new way". This dynamic system is the culmination of a lifetime of work selecting and perfecting effective techniques from traditional and modern martial arts styles. It has evolved based on the realization that the martial arts can benefit from the same rigorous analysis and practical testing that have been crucial to the advances made in other sports.

The scientific study of biomechanics has led to marked improvements in sports technique. These improvements in turn have been responsible for the constant advance of the frontiers of human ability. Choi Shin Do is the result of applying this evolution of technical analysis to the martial arts. Choi Shin Do is built on a foundation of three powerful techniques: Kicking, boxing, and grappling/ground-defense. Impractical and antiquated concepts have been discarded for modern training principles.

Choi Shin Do is an exciting, fun-to-learn self-defense system with superb overall mental and physical fitness benefits. Improved flexibility, strength, coordination, aerobic conditioning and concentration can be achieved by anyone regardless of age, sex or current physical condition. It is with pride that Choi Shin Do is presented as the state of the art in self-defense training.
