ADVANCEMENT AFTER SCHOOL
A Head Start For Developing A Sound Mind In A Sound
Body
Our children's program is the perfect after school activity! The Choi Institute invites you to have your
elementary or middle school children join us for our After School
Karate program. Martial
Arts teach the foundations of success: self-confidence, self-discipline,
respect, inner strength, responsibility, and integrity with the opportunity
to build lasting friendships with other motivated students.
The Choi Institute incorporates Promotion Assessments
which hold students accountable for school, home, and martial art credibility
in order to receive belt promotions.
We invite you to explore this
excellent alternative to day care and to discover the numerous additional
benefits of martial arts training
Please contact us to receive
a tour and observe one of our classes.
2006 SUMMER CAMP
Thanks to Adrian Williamson and Starla Gleason for helping make our 2006 Summer Camp a huge success!
Our campers enjoyed many fun activities along with learning valuable martial arts skills.
About our camp:
Our founder, Master Choi, stated that we teach students
what they do not learn in school. At our
camp children learn more than self-defense.
They learn self-awareness of how their mind and body function together
in a healthy way. They also learn
self-respect and respect for others- a quality that is lacking in so many young
people today. One of the many important benefits that the martial arts gives to
our children is self-confidence.
Developing skills and the sense of achievement in overcoming obstacles
teaches children confidence in their abilities.
They learn that they can stand up to pressure and make good choices. This
self-confidence becomes critical in confronting problems they may face outside
of our school such as bullying and peer pressure.
Enrollment is open to all families. As in the past, we will be accepting Libra
Foundation Scholarships for Portland
residents through the Summer Champs Program.
Space is limited for this very popular alternative to traditional summer
camps, so enroll early. Make summer a
fun and productive experience for your child.
Give them a unique and rewarding experience that will reinforce your
values and help prepare them for the next school year and for the rest of their
lives.
